We are delighted to announce that the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways was awarded the prestigious ‘Go Attraction of the Year’ award at this year’s Go North Wales Tourism Awards.
These annual awards shine a light on the best of the region’s tourism industry, celebrating the achievements, hard work and dedication of those working in the industry.
We were very proud to have been nominated for two awards at this year’s event, ‘Go Attraction of the Year’ (sponsored by SF Parks) and ‘Go Activity or Experience of the Year’ (sponsored by Snowdonia Hospitality & Leisure Ltd).
The ‘Go Attraction of the Year’ award was a recognition of our popular steam train journeys whilst the ‘Go Activity or Experience of the Year’ nomination was thanks to our new set of Boston Lodge Guided Tours, which were launched this summer.
The railway was represented by Stephen Greig (Visitor Experience Manager), Osian Hughes (Marketing Manager), Jim Embrey (Former Interpretation & Boston Lodge Project Staff member and current Volunteer) and David Russel (current Volunteer) at this year’s awards.
This award was made all the more special by the fact we will now qualify into the national Visit Wales Awards, due to be held in Spring 2025.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff and volunteers who have worked so hard throughout the season to make our railways ‘attraction of the year’. This award is a reflection of all your hard work.
Mae’n bleser gennym gyhoeddi bod Rheilffyrdd Ffestiniog ac Eryri wedi ennill gwobr fawreddog ‘Atyniad y Flwyddyn’ yng Ngwobrau Twristiaeth Go North Wales eleni.
Mae’r gwobrau blynyddol hyn yn pwysleisio y goreuon o ddiwydiant twristiaeth y rhanbarth, drwy ddathlu llwyddiannau, gwaith caled ac ymroddiad y rhai sy’n gweithio yn y diwydiant.
Roeddem yn falch iawn o fod wedi cael ein henwebu ar gyfer dwy wobr yn y digwyddiad eleni, ‘Atyniad y Flwyddyn’ (a noddir gan SF Parks) a ‘Gweithgaredd neu Brofiad y Flwyddyn’ (a noddir gan Snowdonia Hospitality & Leisure Ltd).
Roedd gwobr ‘Atyniad y Flwyddyn’ yn gydnabyddiaeth o’n teithiau trên stêm poblogaidd tra bod yr enwebiad ‘Gweithgaredd neu Brofiad y Flwyddyn’ yn gydnabyniaeth i’n set newydd o Deithiau Tywys Boston Lodge, a lansiwyd yr haf hwn.
Cynrychiolwyd y rheilffordd gan Stephen Greig (Rheolwr Profiad Ymwelwyr), Osian Hughes (Rheolwr Marchnata), Jim Embrey (Cyn-aelod o Staff Prosiect Dehongliad Rheilffordd a Boston Lodge a Gwirfoddolwr presennol) a David Russel (Gwirfoddolwr presennol) yn y gwobrau eleni.
Gwnaed y wobr hon yn fwy arbennig fyth gan y ffaith y byddwn yn awr yn cymhwyso ar gyfer Gwobrau cenedlaethol Croeso Cymru, sydd i’w cynnal yng Ngwanwyn 2025.
Hoffem ddefnyddio’r cyfle hwn i ddiolch i’n holl staff a gwirfoddolwyr sydd wedi gweithio mor galed drwy gydol y tymor i wneud ein rheilffyrdd yn ‘atyniad y flwyddyn’. Mae’r wobr hon yn adlewyrchiad o’ch holl waith caled.
