Mountain Spirit / Ysbryd y Mynydd
Porthmadog – Blaenau Ffestiniog & Return
Starting at Porthmadog, ride the full length Ffestiniog Railway. Modern carriages from our own workshops and normally hauled by one of our iconic double fairlie locomotives, this train offers excellent views of the beautiful Vale of Ffestiniog with an interval at Blaenau Ffestiniog, the slate quarrying town that once “Roofed the World”.

Gelert Explorer / Fforiwr Gelert
Caernarfon – Beddgelert & Return
Modern carriages pulled by one of our NG/G16 Beyer-Garratt locomotives, which make an impressive sight steaming across the foothills of Snowdon, twisting and turning on their way to Beddgelert. A pre-order picnic basket service and time to explore the famous village make for a grand day-out with imcomparable views.

The Quarryman / Y Chwarelwr
Blaenau Ffestiniog – Porthmadog & Return
Starting at Blaenau Ffestiniog, amidst the slate tips that signal its historic industrial past; follow the path of the old slate trains as they took their loaded wagons to the harbour at Porthmadog. There is time to explore the harbour area, visit the maritime museum to find out about its past, and enjoy some lunch before your journey back.

The Aberglaslyn / Yr Aberglaslyn
Porthmadog – Beddgelert & Return
Steaming through the famous Aberglaslyn Pass on its way to Beddgelert, this wonderfully scenic journey includes a mix of classic Snowdonia scenery with harbour views, farmland and wide vistas of the mountains, before plunging into a tunnel and out into the pass, high above the tumbling river.
Duration: Approx. 3 hours (return on same train) or full day (return on later train).

Woodland Wanderer / Crwydrwr y Goedwig
Porthmadog – Tan-y-Bwlch & Return
This is a heritage style service through the heart of the woodlands of the Snowdonia National Park, offering wonderful views of the Vale of Ffestiniog. It is great for families and those with dogs, giving around an hour break for a walk along the nature trail and refreshments at the popular Tan-y-Bwlch Tea Room.

Snowdonia Star / Seren Eryri
Caernarfon – Porthmadog & Return
Starting at Caernarfon station and travelling 25 miles ‘coast to coast’ across the foothills of Snowdon to its destination at Porthmadog. This train celebrates the dedication of the volunteers who rebuilt the line. A pre-order picnic basket service, and time to enjoy the station facilities and explore the town make a great day out.

The Harbourmaster / Yr Harbwrfeistr

Starting at Porthmadog Harbour station and travelling 25 miles ‘coast to coast’ through the National Park and across the foothills of Snowdon / Yr Wyddfa to its destination beside the harbour and castle at Caernarfon. Caernarfon – Rhyd Ddu & Return

Porthmadog – Tan-y-Bwlch & Return
Our Victorian Train service gives you a Vintage Ffestiniog experience, riding to Tan-y-Bwlch in some of our beautifully preserved heritage carriages in the original ornate livery of the Victorian era, and hauled by a traditional Double Fairlie Ffestiniog locomotive through majestic forests as the train steams its way up the Vale of Ffestiniog.
